Getting Late

I had to get my shot in before bed (it is the one resolution I've managed to keep so far...) so I snagged this one of Mycal. He's so helpful. (What a great husband.)

People Watcher

...or maybe she watching cats...or neighbor dogs...Missouri spends copious amounts of time surveying the property around our house so she can alert us to all and sundry who might happen to pass by. Just love this shot.

A Rare Sight Indeed

For today's photo I thought I give you a little treat - the (very) rare shot of me. I've been playing with taking self portraits and snapped this one today. Something I think I will do more often. (and maybe even get dolled up for...)

Sam's Eye View

The goal was to get a shot as Samuel would see the world - though now I'm wondering if maybe my camera was all twisted around...too late to check tonight will have to lay down on his mat tomorrow and make sure this is the right angle...

Crazy Face

Libster jumped in front of the camera with this crazy face. I'm torn between wanting laugh and being slightly creeped out. Sometimes you never know what you are going to get with these kids.

Libster and Legos

Snapped a bunch of shots of the girls playing with legos today - it's not that this was the cutest one but it was one of my favorites even when I took it.  I love how I framed the shot and the pose I managed to catch her in. Added to that is her expression - the legos are both an intriguing and exasperating thing to consider.

Lamp

Just played around with angles/perspective of our dining room light - actually liked how a few came out. For tonight this was the winner.

From the Hip

Today I thought it would be fun to take pictures without looking through the viewfinder - you know...shooting from the hip...anyhow after taking maybe fifteen to twenty shots and viewing them on the computer turns out the first one was the best one. It's not perfect and looks much better cropped but for the purpose of this blog that wasn't the point of this post.

Resourceful

Emmuska really wanted to help me make dinner so I set her to work peeling carrots (okay a carrot...). When I turned back around she was putting the finishing touches on her shiv carrot. Seriously she had whittled this thing down to almost dangerously sharp levels. Suddenly not so worried about Emmuska finding herself in a tough spot - she'll whip something up to defend herself.

Helping Hand

Libster helping me feed the dogs - she was excited when I asked her to help that she ran back to her Daddy after every half cup (or less...) of dog food she put into the bowl just to tell him that she put another cup in. The thing that really makes it? Those little who-ears (ponytails). She was just too cute today.

Possible Family Addiction

Just us eating more popcorn...loved the sight of my twinner girls happily snacking away.

Walked around the corner to this sight...some furniture just isn't big enough.

This Little Piggy

Emmuska is without a doubt one of my favorite photo subjects of all time. Her personality is just so well caught with a camera (though it still falls short of the real thing ;). I did some post-production work on this shot in photoshop.

Legos 1

Legos have such great visual texture that I'm sure they will be on here often throughout the year. I already know there will be others Lego shots because I want to keep practicing and they're a good subject.

While cleaning today I stumbled across this bead and I thought "when did I get Micky Mouse beads?" and then I picked it up. I'm impressed that sweeping can create such iconic images.

Right Time

He had just rolled over on his own (a brand new thing he started doing today) then lifted his head up and looked at me.  Right time, right place. I love it when things work out like that.

Lounging

Crayola Red

I painted my nails with a crayon today. Actually worked out really well as I didn't have to worry about the smell or it getting anywhere.  Still can't recommend it to anybody who wants a more long-term look and it'd difficult to get it as deep as one might like. Still a lot of fun.

Today We...

...had an egg hunt. A little snow and a couple calendar months do not deter two or (especially) four year olds.

Missouri got her stitches out today. A process that ended up requiring sedation...to get stitches OUT...pansy. (Okay I'm the pansy I didn't want her snapping at me...)
